Persistency Is Everything

The Earth started fresh a circle around the Sun. For many of us this brings in a wonderful psychological push to start a new resolution for example - I will start writing a diary from 1st January 2023 or I will start focusing on my personal grooming from the first day etc. But do we really need to wait for an occasion like that which of course comes once in a year to set a positive push? Let us figure this out.

Why does it feels likely to work when we set something as a New Year Resolution?

For the answer of this question let me give you an insight from Mahabharata. Lord Krishna while convincing Arjuna for the war explained that "Your Mind is like the five horses of the chariot which guides and powers the progress in your life. Thus unless these horses are controlled and guided by the charioteer named "Conscious", it will flow you away to the unknown path."  This is one of those important lessons to carry with us from Mahabharata. If we try to relate this to our day to day lives, you can easily relate how many times the mind flows you away from where you originally wanted to head.

Now whenever we set a resolution it is the conscious which is guiding our mind to head in a particular direction. This is where persistency comes into play. Usually many of us can relate that it is again quite easy to start a new activity however difficult to maintain it over a period of time. The conscious which inspired the start is the one who helps us maintain it day in day out. Let me give you an example, many of us find it difficult to wake up in the chill winter morning, but if you recall the days back in school when a day before the school trip we used to be so excited that the next day we neither used to need alarm clock nor our mothers to wake us up. The conscious guides our mind to wake up at the desired time.

There are two things to be top of our agenda if we have to be persistent with an activity - one, it should give you the same amount of adrenaline boost as that of the school trip example, like, you should remain interested enough for your conscious. Two, you should now command your mind for the desired execution. For example - you can actually speak it to yourself before going to bed that I am supposed to wake up at 5am tomorrow morning.

If persistency is everything, then does it make New Year Resolution like thing meaningless?

The answer is No. This season, especially in India is the season of healing. We are into peak winters during the end of the year. In this season people prefer sitting around the fireplaces or bonfires after the dinner with friends and families, exchange thoughts, share experiences. This gives us a chance to assess where we need improvements. The new year gives us the opportunity to reset the path, make some corrections if requirement and start a new journey to ace, and to become even better than what we were in the passing year.

In the conclusion, a positive change that we decide to put in on ourselves should never be out of  our conscious and all we should be doing is corrections and improvements to it. If you think failures can be ruled out completely then it is too much to expect. Failures are part of the journey, one must accept it and should focus only on how do you stay persistent with the goal on the next rising day.

The Social Media Trap

Today we are going to talk about a  topic - very commonly acknowledged, talked by almost everyone, known by every rational mind but easily ignored, the social media trap. Although everybody talks about it, also ironically on the very social media platforms, it is very easily ignored. Additionally, and this can be an isolated observation, everybody seems to be talking only about the problem or what is bad, what you should be doing, but no one tells "why".     So in the following part of the blog, we will mainly focus on the hidden side of the topic that no one talks about. 1.  Tons of Influencers There are multiple POVs to look at social media influencers. The common people look at them from a different point of view, they are part of the job for the Digital Marketers, and they hold a different kind of importance for the business owners. What important to know is - how are they being used to sell a narrative, an agenda or a product is alarming. Hum...

Surviving From Pandemic - The Education System

It's been over an year with one of the biggest pandemics in the history of mankind and the only way we can reach back to the normal world is after 100% vaccination of the whole population. There are trends of a new normal like - having your half a face covered with mask in public, online education, working from home, weekend curbs or night curbs, not having a social gathering, zoom meetings, video calls and so on.      When we talk about a long term impact of the pandemic there are both positives and negatives. Let's start with the positive ones first. I can see a drastic change in the mentality of the society towards health and hygiene. The main driver of the change became washing hands. We Indians were too lazy or ignorant about this particular aspect prior pandemic, I have barely seen anybody using hand sanitizers including myself. The only time I used to wash my hands with soap was before a meal. Many skipped that too😂. However nowadays I can see...

Responsibilities Vs. Comfortzone

Responsibility is a very heavy concept as it is one of the fundamentals of life. In general, there are two major types of responsibilities. The first one is the Social Responsibility, but if I start talking about that, it is a whole new topic and this blog will not be enough to cover that up. So, let's not talk about that here. The more important is the second one i.e. Personal Responsibility or in other words, the responsibility of an individual about his or her own life.       Why I said more important? There are a lot of things which are directly or indirectly dependent on how responsible an individual is about his or her personal life, as Mr. Gandhi rightly said, "if you want to change the world, start with yourself". These days the sense of personal responsibility is forgotten by youngsters of our age which automatically affects the world, the country, and the society we are living in. Now, we will see what exactly is happening.    ...
