5095 active cases when I have started writing this blog, it's been over 15 days in the lockdown, the next few days are very important for us. I hope we are understanding the seriousness of the situation. What I have seen around, people didn't realize the seriousness unless it reaches their door. As Mr. Prime Minister said it's a different kind of war and we all are part of it, so being irresponsible is not an option.
We have to first focus on certain points, that I guess most of you if not all must be noticing.
- We have to admit that the devil has reached our doors. We have been seeing it first in Wuhan, then in Iran, then in Italy, France, Spain, the US. Now it's here. People are chilling out like they are on a vacation, breaking the social distancing rule and discussing senseless stuff coming together. I mean what?
- We have more population in some states than many of the western countries. As the Indian guy from Italy saying in his video that unlike European countries, we don't have enough resources with respect to the vast population. You have to appreciate the efforts of our government because they have done much better so far. The problem we have is, we are not disciplined enough to follow rules.
- Talking about lockdown. No doubt we had no other option but to shut everything. We also have to take into account that, 81% of the population is in the informal sector, most of them get the bread at the end of the day only if they work. So lockdown had a direct impact on these people. The government is trying their level best to provide them food and shelter but chaos was unavoidable considering such a large population.
- There were questions on the Indian government's moves, like the lockdown should have been planned well. But do you really think there was any time to plan? We have at least decreased the pace of disease spread by this lockdown. No doubt there are going to be some lags, but keeping in mind the bigger goal, we have to do nothing but support our government. There are authorities, departments, every single unit is working at their best, the only help we can do is stay at home and follow their guidelines. Isn't that sound simple?
- All of us have seen the Tablighi Jamaat case. And the whole scenario got an what I'll say a "Religious Tadka". The policemen, health workers are being attacked, extremists (not from a particular religion but overall) have done their work as always and misguided many. Wow, I mean you don't need a COVID-19, you will rather die fighting with each other. Okay, agreed, there were mistakes happened, it was an unfortunate incident at a very wrong time, the culprits are going to get punished for sure, but what next? Shall we stop blaming and focus on solutions rather than making it a Hindu-Muslim thing? The choice is yours.
- Well, I have also seen some Pro-Modi and Anti-Modi things happening. I won't say who I support, but leftists, this is the time to come together as a country. That man, though you hate him, is the Prime Minister, agreed is useless according to you, but do you really have an option now? I mean the general elections are in 2024, let's save it for then. This is the time to be united because the country is bigger than this senseless stuff, your tweets and posts are only going to add to the chaos. One more request to the leftists, if this helps in controlling the pandemic and putting our country back on track, I am with you, because for me my country is bigger than anything else.
- The important one, for God's sake, stop believing in stupid things, only doctors, I repeat only doctors and the healthcare system can help you. I believe in my God, but that doesn't mean I can't get infected. So please open your eyes, we are planning to make the Mars habitable, the missions are going to start from 2023. Faith is acceptable, blind faith is not.
The things that are under our control:
- As Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, the treatment we have for now against COVID-19 is breaking the chain and stop the spread. So stay home and maintain social distancing.
- Even if going out for buying essentials, follow proper safety measures.
- The government is doing their best, follow the guidelines provided by the authorities from time to time, trust me that is the only way out.
- Rise above religious discriminations, diversities, differences, we all are facing a common enemy, time to get back and fight together.
- Keep boosting morale of yourself and that of the people around you.
In the end, let us pray that the Almighty gives all of us, especially those in the front lines, the strength to fight this adversity. Stay Home, Stay Safe. Jai Hind🇮🇳.
